Indexables — the SEO database layer under the plugin.

A dedicated table for SEO metadata that speeds up sitemap generation, breadcrumb queries and schema output by 12x on sites with 10,000+ posts.

Why WordPress needs it

wp_postmeta is optimised for arbitrary key/value storage, not for the 20+ SEO fields every post needs. On sites over 10,000 posts, sitemap generation crawls.

What Indexables changes

Every post gets one row in wp_omni_indexables containing all SEO fields (title, description, canonical, robots, schema hash, embedding hash, AI Visibility status, etc.). Sitemap and breadcrumb queries become single-table SELECTs.

Benchmark

Sitemap generation on a 42,000-post site: 8.4 seconds without Indexables → 0.7 seconds with Indexables. 12x speedup, verified on WP Engine, Kinsta and vanilla LAMP.
